Description
A hand trowel forged from a single piece of carbon steel so there is no weld between blade and tang. The blade is 6 inches long and 3.25 inches wide with a dished profile that holds soil, and a tip ground sharp enough to cut through turf. The oiled ash handle is 5.5 inches long; overall length 11.5 inches and weight 9 ounces.
Carbon steel is tougher than stainless and takes an edge, but it will spot with surface rust if left wet. Wipe it dry and rub a drop of oil over the blade now and again. A leather loop is fitted for hanging.
