Glazed Stoneware Pot with Saucer, 8 inch
Wheel-thrown stoneware pot in a matte oatmeal glaze, 8 inches across, 7 inches tall, with drainage hole and saucer.
Description
A stoneware pot thrown on the wheel and fired to 2300 degrees Fahrenheit, which makes it fully vitrified and safe to leave outdoors year round. It measures 8 inches across the rim and 7 inches tall, with a three-quarter-inch drainage hole and a matching saucer. The glaze is a matte oatmeal with small iron specks; the raw clay foot is a warm brown. Weight 4.5 pounds with saucer.
Because stoneware does not breathe, soil stays moist longer than in terracotta, so it suits ferns, hostas and most houseplants. Wipe with a damp cloth. Small variations in glaze and shape are part of hand throwing.
